CHOLERA WARNING FOR VAAL AND HARTS RIVERS IN NORTH WEST AND NORTHERN CAPE

The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) has issued a warning on Wednesday 9 October 2024 to communities along the Vaal and Harts rivers, from Christiana downstream, following the detection of cholera bacteria in raw water during routine sampling at five sites, including Wentzel Dam, Schweizer Reneke, and Barkley West.

Rustenburg – The Rustenburg Local Municipality has formally introduced its newly appointed directors on Thursday 3 October 2024. At an event graced by the executive mayor, Cllr Shiela Mabale-Huma, and other key leaders, the municipal manager, advocate Ashmar Khuduge, welcomed the directors, marking the end of a long period of instability in the municipality’s leadership.
