Small Ramochana upholstery enterprise destroyed by fire

Rustenburg – A man living in Ramochana was lucky to escape unharmed after his livelihood went up in flames on Saturday 14 November. He was busy repairing some damage to the structure when he noticed the smoke. The incident occurred during broad daylight at around 13:00 in a street close to the R510.

Bushiri's plot thickens

South Africa – Owner of the well-known Sparkling Waters Hotel and Spa resort and self-proclaimed prophet Shephard Bushiri and his wife Mary had their multimillion-rand Centurion property forfeited to the state, after they failed to appear in court. Police authorities in Malawi have confirmed the arrest of Shepherd and Mary Bushiri, a few days after they skipped bail in South Africa and fled to the neighbouring country. However, the Malawian government was widely criticised on social media for employing delaying tactics to extradite the Bushiris. The preacher is wanted in South Africa on theft, fraud and money-laundering charges to the tune of R102 million.

Bullets fly in high-speed chase
Robbed of R300,000

Rustenburg – An employee who was on his way to deposit money for his company was shot at and chased by people driving a white BMW X5. After a high-speed chase he lost control of the Hyundai mini truck he was driving. The vehicle rolled, and the man managed to flee the scene before the robbers looted R300,000 from the truck.
