Do you think a life sentence should be for life?

In South Africa, a life sentence (for a crime committed) may not necessarily mean spending one’s entire life behind bars, given the provisions for parole under the Criminal Law Amendment Act of 1997. But thinking about murderers, rapists, and serious crime… we want to hear your opinion. Should a life sentence in South Africa unequivocally mean imprisonment for life, without the option for parole?
