Rustenburg – In an innovative initiative to bolster and uplift the local business sector, the Waterfall Mall, in collaboration with Platinum Weekly newspaper, Turn Media, Pulse FM 92.9, Rustenburg Local Municipality’s Local Economic Development department, SEDA, Property Point, Orbit TVET College’s Centre of Entrepreneurship, Office of the Tax Ombud, and First National Bank, orchestrated a business seminar on Saturday 16 March 2024.

This seminar, part of a remarkable SMME competition designed to uplift small, medium, and micro-sized enterprises, offered an unparalleled platform for local entrepreneurs to engage, learn, and showcase their business acumen. The event underscored a community-wide commitment to diversifying the economic landscape.

The seminar was not just a convergence of ideas but also a celebration of local talent and potential. Participants had the opportunity to immerse themselves in informative sessions, engage in meaningful dialogue with industry leaders, and gain insights into the essentials of business success in today’s competitive environment.

The event also served as a precursor to an exclusive exhibition at the Waterfall Mall, where ten outstanding entrants will have the chance to showcase their businesses to the community and potential customers. This opportunity for direct engagement is invaluable, providing a platform for these entrepreneurs to shine and interact with a broader audience.

Adding to the excitement, one exceptional SMME will be awarded a grand prize valued at R170,000, comprising advertising opportunities and mentorship aimed at propelling their business to new heights. A highlight of this prize is an exclusive full-page advertisement in the Platinum Weekly newspaper, ensuring widespread visibility.

As Rustenburg continues to cultivate a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem, events like this seminar not only spotlight the town’s dynamic business landscape but also reaffirm the community’s commitment – in particular the Waterfall Mall’s commitment – to fostering innovation and growth across all sectors.
