Rustenburg – The Rustenburg Local Municipality (RLM) has been busy removing illegal dumpsites and sprucing up public areas as part of the Safe and Clean City campaign.
The campaign, which is being led by the public safety directorate, is in line with the local government authority’s objectives to maintain a clean, green, safe, and healthy municipal environment for all residents. The initiative also includes trimming trees near public spaces and clearing the grass from pedestrian walks to ensure that robbers do not hide behind bushy areas and pounce on unsuspecting victims.
MMC for Public Safety Councillor Victoria Makahula, who has been at the forefront of the campaign, urged all informal traders to adhere to the municipal by-laws.

Personnel from the RLM public safety directorate swept the Rustenburg taxi station clean, 15 March.
