SA – Before employing a private investigator it is important to check whether they are registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA) in terms of Act 56 of 2001.

It is a criminal offense in terms of section 20(1) and section 38(3)(a) of Act 56 of 2001 to portray oneself as a private investigator if not registered and in good standing with the PSiRA.
