Rustenburg – The annual Golden Oldies Motor show took place at the Impala Rugby Club on Saturday 16 June.

Earmarked as one of the biggest motor shows in the North West province, this event annually draws excitement from car enthusiasts throughout the larger North-West and Gauteng provinces.

This year was no exception! Despite the windy morning and cold weather, the event drew car enthusiasts and neighbouring car clubs from Pretoria and Johannesburg, who braved the particular cold morning to showcase their pride and joys.

Over 200 vehicles were on show with over 600 visitors passing through the gates to have a look at the spectacular array of classic cars, hot rods and gorgeous roadsters.

JJ van Schalkwyk, Golden Oldies club chairman told the Platinum Weekly: “We’re very happy with the turnout for this Father’s Day show. We wouldn’t have been able to make this year’s show a success without the help and support of our club members.”

The V8 club and the T-buckets had the heads turning while the massive the monster truck ‘Big Mamma’ stood head and shoulder above the rest.

The day was a massive success with live music and entertainment by local musician AJ van der Mescht.
