Koster – Thirty-one suspects arrested for public violence that erupted in Koster and Derby a week ago, were granted bail of R1 000 each and their case is postponed to 28 June.

The group appeared before the Koster Magistrates’ Court for public violence, arson and malicious damage to property in which the mayor of Kgetleng’s vehicles and houses were burnt to the ground, on Monday, 28 May.

North West provincial commissioner, lieutenant general Baile Motswenyane condemned in the strongest possible terms the acts of public violence.

She urged members of the community to refrain from destruction of property when they embark on the protest.

One of the houses set alight by an angry mob.
