Rustenburg – The Rustenburg branch of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) recently announced the start of an exciting new contest.

Friday, 6 April, marks the launch of an exciting raffle contest aimed at raising funds for the SPCA. The grand prize will be a weekend away for four to the exotic Inzenga Lodge & Safari, valued at R2 800 and includes a game drive.

Participants are invited to make a R200 donation per family to the SPCA, which automatically qualifies them to enter the competition. The competition closes on the 18 April. The lucky draw will be conducted on the 21 April and the winners announced shortly thereafter.

Inzenga Lodge & Safaris is located near Boshoek on the Sun City road and is nestled in an area renowned for its amazing trees. Inzenga means porcupine in Zulu. Other activities on offer include: game drives, cycling, swimming, hiking, and a pool.

The competition is sponsored by Marita Ferreira of Inzenga lodge; she has a love for animals and a passion for preserving wildlife.

Marita told the Platinum Weekly:

“When we heard that the Rustenburg SPCA was in trouble and might actually close their doors for good, we knew that offering this great gift as a raffle prize could be a great way to help the needy animals.”

Louise du Piesanie of the SPCA also told the Platinum Weekly that this is a great initiative and simply proves that with a little ingenuity, the SPCA Rustenburg will be able to use each and every unique donation (not just money). “People interested in supporting the SPCA can also make contributions in the form of pet food parcels.”

For further information willing donors are requested to contact SPCA on 014-592 3181.
