Rustenburg – This Easter weekend marked a great family gettogether at the Rustenburg Ovals with competitive racers of all ages from far and wide compete for the chequered flag.


The gates opened on Saturday, 31 March, at three and the first professional racing started at 18h00.


It was a fun-filled evening with race drivers competing in three heats for the Platinum Raceway cups. Between heats, the Easter Bunny brought some special Easter eggs.


Fortunately, the rain held out until just after the final, but the evening was still filled with nail-biting race action and fortunately, no one was seriously injured despite all the thrills and spills.


The next race will regionals, held on 28 April (during the long weekend) and are definitely not to be missed… watch this space! 

Girl power… Luane Feld, 12, drove in the rookie class.
Julian Booysen, a mere 10 years old, competed in the rookie class. 
Darren Pottek, 11, also put peddle to the metal in the rookie class.
