Rustenburg – Two copper cable thieves arrested a week ago, appeared before the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court and were remanded in police custody.

“The pair, Monde Zimase and Daniel Baloyi, was part of a group of four who were found in possession of 138.6kg copper cables on 8 March,” said sergeant Ofentse Mokgadi, police spokesperson.

Two of their accomplices escaped and are still on the run. Their arrest followed a complaint that copper cables were being stolen at the Mega Logistics Station in the Rustenburg Industrial area.

The Rustenburg South African Police Station (SAPS) cluster commander general Arthur Adams showered the members of the K9 unit with praises for a job well done.
