Rustenburg – The Rustenburg community mourns the loss of Ann Grobler, a beloved figure and founding member of the renowned Grobler Levin & Soonius Attorneys Inc (GLS). Ann passed away on Sunday, 12 January 2025, in Somerset West, surrounded by the love of her family. Her passing marks the end of an extraordinary journey and leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew her.

Born on 5 December 1963 in Somerset West, Ann’s life was a testament to resilience, kindness, and unwavering dedication. After studying law at Wits University and completing her articles at VVD (Van Velden-Duffey Inc), she embarked on a remarkable legal career, founding GLS in 1993. Known for her expertise in conveyancing, Ann’s meticulous attention to detail and genuine care for her clients earned her widespread respect and admiration.

Ann retired in 2019 after decades of hard work and dedication, choosing to embrace a quieter life. In 2023, she made a permanent move to Greyton in the Western Cape, where she found peace and comfort in the company of her husband, Francois (affectionately known as French). Their enduring love was a cornerstone of Ann’s life, exemplifying devotion, companionship, and unwavering support.
At the heart of Ann’s life was her family. She is survived by her husband Francois, her three children, Graeme, Ashleigh, and Jana, who each carry forward her legacy of kindness and strength. She also welcomed their partners, Annika, Diaan, and Michelle, into her heart, forming a close-knit family filled with laughter and love. Ann’s greatest joy in recent years was being “Mima” to her cherished grandchildren, Nalu, Draven, and Zayli, creating memories that will be treasured for generations.

Despite facing a courageous battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ann’s resilience and grace shone brightly. Her warmth and unwavering spirit touched everyone she met, leaving an indelible mark on the Rustenburg community and beyond.

The GLS team, where Ann’s legacy began, mourns the loss of their founder, mentor, and friend, vowing to honour her memory in their continued dedication to excellence.

The funeral service to celebrate Ann’s life took place on 20 January 2025 at NG Kerk, Greyton.
