Rustenburg – Dino World South Africa came to Rustenburg, bringing a prehistoric adventure to life at the Rustenburg Showgrounds from 4 to 7 July 2024. The Dino Expo, running from 09:00 to 17:00 each day, delighted young and old alike with its thrilling attractions.

The event featured four captivating sections. The Dino Expo offered a walk-through maze showcasing fascinating dinosaurs like the Gastonia and Pterodactyl. The Jurassic Giants section highlighted the majestic Tyrannosaurus Rex and the enormous Australotitan, among other awe-inspiring creatures. Dino Street Theatre provided dinosaur amusement rides for children, while the Reptile Show featured a variety of snakes, small crocodiles, frogs, and tortoises.

In addition to these main attractions, the event included jumping castles and fossil digging activities, ensuring non-stop fun for everyone. Families from near and far joined in the excitement, making lasting memories.

One such family, Sunette and Gerrit Maree, travelled all the way from Groot Marico. They told their children, Reghard (10) and Elisna (4), they were going on a family picnic, but the real surprise was the Dino Expo. Reghard exclaimed, “I can’t believe it! I love dinosaurs, but they might come eat me!” Meanwhile, seven-year-old Armone Westraat, proudly wearing a ‘Girls like dinosaurs too’ shirt, declared, “My favourite dinosaur is Velociraptor! Roarrr.”

The Dino Expo’s visit to Rustenburg was a roaring success, leaving children and their families with unforgettable experiences and a newfound love for the ancient giants of the past.

Despite some negative talk on social media about the show, most of the people we spoke with absolutely loved it — especially the kids!
