Tribute: Francois Mienie

Hartbeespoort Dam – The King Price Race to the Sun would like to pay tribute to Francois Mienie who tragically passed away on Saturday 11 May 2024, during the race.

The accident occurred on a stretch of gravel road about 115 km into the race. Francois fell and was hit by an oncoming vehicle. Paramedics were on the scene within minutes, but he passed away instantly. Police and forensic personnel were dispatched to the scene, and investigations by local authorities are ongoing.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and bereaved family and friends. In remembrance of Francois Mienie, the King Price Race to the Sun King Of The Mountain will henceforth be known as the Francois Mienie KOM.
