Berlina, a finalist for Mrs South Africa!
Moses Kotane – The highly anticipated 2023 Dallmayr Mrs South Africa pageant announced its 2023 finalists at its first-ever semi-final showcase event, on Friday 7 July 2023 at the famous Theatre of Marcellus, Emperors Palace. Out of a fiercely competitive field of 100 remarkable semi-finalists from all over South Africa, Berlina Lekgethwane representing the North West province, secured her place amongst the Top 30 announced. Berlina started from humble beginnings and grew up in Ramokokastad in Phadi village.
Guests who attended the first-ever Mrs South Africa semi-finalist showcase, in association with Dallmayr Coffee were treated to an evening of elegance, talent, and inspiration, including a black-tie VIP pre-party with renowned MC, Jo-Ann Strauss. The contestants then showed off their dazzling evening wear and, finally, the judges’ Top 30 finalists were announced.
This year’s prestigious panel of judges included well-known figures such as former Mrs South Africa Queens, Matapa Maila and Jacqueline Ferns, Dr Fezile Mkhize and Catherine Constantinides.
Berlina Lekgethwane, a full-time manager of media and communications in Moses Kotane Local Municipality, said that becoming a finalist is a dream come true!
She is a highly driven individual with a passion for the development of others. “I especially carry in me the burden to empower others from humble beginnings like me, motivate as well as equip them with skills so that they too can gain the advantage of opportunities,” said Berlina. Mrs South Africa is the country’s leading pageant for married women, offering participants a renowned self-development programme, as well as the opportunity to positively impact their communities. Through mentorship, leadership training, workshops, and personal development, the pageant empowers its contestants with the skills and tools necessary to effect meaningful societal change Berlina shares.
The grand finale, where one finalist will be crowned the new Dallmayr Mrs South Africa, will be held on 17 November this year. Watch this space!
