Rustenburg – Residents using the Alamein, Hendrik van der Merwe and Zand streets were fed up with the state of the roads and decided to do something themselves.
They got various quotes from contractors but due to the exuberant costs, they were unable to pay for the repairs. In the meantime, the damaged road deteriorated even further, causing damages to many vehicles. Someone then recommended that they use the services of Jacob Motamba. Jacob has become Rustenburg’s ‘Mr Fixit’.
Jacob managed to fix the road in just three days using the 32 bags of tar and two bags of cement donated and paid for by the following people:

  • Sonja Lourens
  • Nicolene Botha
  • Tian Ferreirra
  • Mike Loots
  • Doreen Lundersted
  • Alet Potgieter
  • Sumayya Berricke
  • Leon Phakonne
  • Johan Pretorius
  • Magda Best
  • Tassie Nlilo Engineering
  • Hettie
  • Jeandre du Preez
  • Staff Franka Guesthouse
  • Gert du Plessis
  • Naomie Sauerman
  • Juliana Webber

The community would like to thank everyone who contributed towards the project, even positive comments, a smile and a thumbs-up made the burden a little lighter.
Jacob is a young entrepreneur willing to assist with fixing potholes as well as doing general handyman work and can be contacted on 071 238 8385.
