Rustenburg – Be one of the art and literature guests to an exhibition of paintings and book review at the Bill McGill Art Exhibition to be held at the Bush Willow Bread & Breakfast, on the R24 in Rustenburg on Friday, 18 May at 18h30.

Declared art event of the year, the exhibition will also be a celebration of Bill McGill’s 84th birthday wherein a collection of his wonderful paintings will be on display. Speaking to Platinum Weekly, McGill said they will showcase about 38 paintings on the evening, which is also the 20th edition of the art exhibition.

The event would not be complete without a review of the book ‘Pilanesberg Stories and Pictorial Journeys co-authored by McGill and Koos Herbst’ now retired head warden of Pilanesberg. The illustrations in the book are also the work of McGill.

Herbst will open the exhibition with a talk on the plight of the rhinos in the Pilanesberg, a subject closer to the heart of many who are concerned with the dwindling numbers of South Africa’s Big 5 animals due to poaching.
