Rustenburg – Mihla Engelbrecht will not be packing her dolls in preparing for the Easter holidays; instead she will be waiting for good Samaritans to open their hearts by pledging towards the R6 895 000 required to save her life.

The diagnosis of this rare form of cancer was a devastating shock to Mihla’s parents Rudo and Shani. The cancer is known as neuroblastoma and can only be treated successfully in America.

Shani has dropped off everything, including her job, in order to devote all her energy on saving the life of this once bubbly girl, who has now gone bald due to the regular chemotherapy sessions.

The parents have since the diagnosis endured an experience that is energy sapping and emotionally draining, taking Mihla through numbing medical processes and neurosurgical operations. As Mihla got wheeled from theatre to theatre her parents waited with abated breath. They, like many, would like to see Mihla’s blonde hair grow back one day. They would like to see your contributions changing Mihla’s life so that, like all girls, she could get married and live a normal life one day.

Several projects have been lined up for those willing to partake in fundraising initiatives to save the life of Mihla. These are:
1. Golf day for Mihla
2. Rainhill Farmers Market for Mihla
3. Spekboom for Mihla project
4. Bennie the rhino
5. Heart of Gold model competition for Mihla
6. Joe Black fundraiser
7. Touch of Class fundraiser
