Rustenburg – The Platinum Weekly newspaper was contacted on Tuesday by residents of Rustenburg and surrounds who claimed to have spotted a tiger along Doctor Moroka Drive in Rustenburg on Monday, 22 January at around 20h30.

We later confirmed that a well-known veterinarian was called to a scene at around 22h00 on Monday evening where the tiger was reportedly hit by a car. However, upon arrival, the animal had disappeared. It is thought that the owner of the tiger managed to track it down and recaptured it. No further sightings of the beast have been reported.
