Impala eyes must-win clash against Potch

Rustenburg – Impala Rugby Club faced a fierce challenge on Saturday, 12 July 2025, when they hosted the Northam Wolves from Hartbeespoort Dam in a Leopards Neser A League match. Both teams fought hard but couldn’t stop the Wolves, one of South Africa’s top eight clubs. The first team lost 30–73 and the second team went down 5–33.

“Our first team showed real fight, but the Wolves were just too strong,” said Johan Engelbrecht, director of rugby. Now, all focus turns to this Saturday, 19 July, when Impala hosts Potchefstroom Dorp at the Impala fields in Rustenburg. It’s a must-win for both the first and second teams to keep semifinal hopes alive.
