Sibanye-Stillwater storms to PVR Plate with Crushing Win!

Rustenburg – Triumph, teamwork, and sheer tenacity defined Sibanye-Stillwater SAPGM Rugby Club’s dominant 60–10 victory over Klerksdorp Rugby Club in the Plate Final of the prestigious Phillip van Rensburg (PVR) League on Saturday, 3 May 2025. Captain Sakkie Smith led from the front, racking up an impressive 30 points on his own — scoring two tries, converting seven, and landing two penalty kicks. Lock Sibusiso Gwenkane also delivered a standout performance with two tries, while teammates Ruan Jansen van Vuuren, Francois Agenbag, Christo Willemse, and Vincent Coto each added one try to the scoreboard.

Head coach Joel Scherman praised the team’s passion and execution: “This win is the result of pure commitment and hard work.”

Sibanye-Stillwater now turns its focus to the Neser A President’s League. Their next match takes place this coming Saturday, 10 May 2025, when they face Potchefstroom Rugby Club in Potchefstroom.
