Rustenburg – This year marks an incredible milestone as the Rustenburg Impala Rugby Club celebrates its 135th anniversary. 

Established in 1890 as the ‘Rustenburg Rugby Club,’ the team became known as Rustenburg Impala Rugby Club in 1996 after merging with Impala Mine. With three national club championship titles under their belt, the club’s legacy of excellence continues. 

Trials for the new season are set for Saturday 25 January 2025, with the first friendly match against the Northam Platinum Rhinos taking place on Saturday, 8 February 2025, in Setaria. 

Head coach Johan Engelbrecht shared, “The players have been training very hard, with practice sessions held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 18:00 to 19:30”.
