Rustenburg – On Saturday 20 July 2024, CASMAR Impala Rugby Club demonstrated their strength and skill in a home game against the Hurricanes Rugby Club. The club’s performance was nothing short of spectacular, with both teams securing significant victories that propelled them into the semi-finals.

The second team triumphed 22-14, securing their spot in the upcoming semi-finals. Meanwhile, the

first team delivered an overwhelming victory, winning 58-3. With 25 minutes left on the clock, the game was halted when the Hurricanes conceded defeat. You don’t see that every day. Head coach Johan Engelbrecht shared his excitement and plans for the semi-finals. “This Saturday, 27 July 2024, the first team will face the Welkom Rovers in Klerksdorp, while the second team will go up against Sibanye-Stillwater SAPGM Rugby Club’s second team,” Engelbrecht said. “It was a long season with 14 matches, home and away. We won 8 out of 14. After winning 2 out of 7 in the first round, we won 6 out of 7 in the second round. It was a significant turnaround in the league.”
