Koster – In an impressive display of endurance and speed, 25-year-old Reuben Mosiane from Koster clinched victory at the Tshwane North Ultra 2024 marathon. Mosiane set a new course record by finishing the 50.6 km race in just 2 hours and 56 minutes. The marathon took place on Saturday 20 April 2024, on what was described as an exceptionally challenging course.

Mosiane led a competitive field, with Teboho Lehaja securing second place with a time of 2:59:15, followed closely by Sifiso Nqumakhwe who completed the race in 3:02:56. Mosiane’s coach, Dave Adams, shared his satisfaction with the result, noting the race’s difficulty. “I’m happy with his win, though it was a bit tougher than what we had planned,” Adams said.

Earlier in the year, Mosiane demonstrated his formidable capabilities at the Balwin Sports Pretoria Marathon in February, where he finished second with a time of 2:26, just behind Philani Buthelezi. According to Adams, the focus since then has been on preparing for the Comrades Marathon, using races like Om die Dam and the Tshwane North Ultra as strategic training runs.

Reuben Mosiane and his coach are optimistic about their upcoming competitions, with their sights firmly set on continuing their success in the long-distance running scene.
