Impala on fire!
Rustenburg – Can Impala Rugby Club extend their winning run to eight matches when they take on Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in Gauteng on Saturday 2 October? This is the question doing the rounds in local rugby circles as the race to win the Carlton President League gathers pace.
So far, Impala have won all their seven matches and are in a very good position to qualify for the semi-finals of the competition. A resounding 106-3 victory over Atteridgeville in their last match on Saturday 18 September went a long way to prove they are one of the favourites to go all the way and win the title.
“We are now on top of the log,” said club chairman Wynand Burger. “It has been a good season for us and although we lost one of our players to a rival club, we have performed very well,” he added.
Impala will be the favourites to collect maximum points when they face TUT at 16:00.
