Rustenburg - Botlhabelo Secondary School secured a place in this year’s COPA Coca-Cola national finals, after winning the provincial stage of the competition on Saturday 17 August.

The Brits-based team won their matches against Sebitwane and Seiphemelo Schools in the provincial finals, which took place in Rustenburg.

The provincial tournament was a fun-filled day of football that gave a platform for young players to showcase their talent.

VIP guest, former Orlando Pirates captain Lucky Lekgwathi, spoke passionately about the tournament.

“I believe all the schools displayed wonderful performances which were accompanied by fair-play and sportsmanship.

Well done to the new champions and we wish them the best of luck in Durban,” Lucky said.

The national finals will be played at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban from 18 September to 25 September.
