Dikwena’s survival hopes takes another dent

Rustenburg/ Phokeng – Platinum Stars failed to take advantage of Ajax Cape Town’s slipup as they drew 0-0 with Baroka FC at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Wednesday 4 April.

Dikwena is currently rooted to the foot of the Absa Premiership log with eighteen points, five games left to claim 2017/2018 Absa Premiership Champions; and seven points behind 15th place Ajax Cape Town, who lost 2-1 to AmaZulu on Tuesday. 

The opening stages of the encounter failed to provide any goal-mouth action although Gerald Phiri Jnr looked lively for the home side, as they were searching for their first win in 2018.

After a quiet start to the second half, Dikwena should have gone ahead after the hour mark when Sibusiso Msomi fired wide of Ayanda Dlamini’s upright from close range but did not shake the net.

The match ended sharing 1 point each for a goalless draw.
