2018 Comrades club tent site bookings now open

With bookings for club tent sites having opened on 19 March, running clubs have been urged to secure their sites for Comrades race day on Sunday, 10 June 2018. CMA Race Director, Rowyn James has urged running clubs to book their spot, especially due to the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium being the confirmed finish venue for this year’s Comrades Marathon.

James says: “The interest in this years’ race has been profound, especially in light of the new finish venue which is a first for The Ultimate Human Race. In line with the facilities offered by this landmark location, it is our intention that our athletes and running clubs get to enjoy the best of the Moses Mabhida Stadium and the adjoining People’s Park.”

There will only be two designated areas for the Clubs, either inside the Stadium or at the People’s Park Club Tent Site Village. Inside the stadium, clubs will have a choice of either hospitality suites or a public seating area in the stadium off Level 3. This area will be cordoned off and clearly signposted for each club. This area will have full view of the runners entering the stadium and finish line. 

The People’s Park Club Tent Site Village is situated outside the stadium. There is no direct view of the runners on the route, although runners can be seen from a distance finishing along NMR Avenue/ Masabalala Yengwa Avenue before entering the stadium.
