The motto of Selly Park Secondary School is ‘all things to all people’… a quote from Saint Paul, patron saint of the school.

The school strives to be all things to all people, by not flinching from welcoming into the Selly Park community, learners who have been rejected from other schools on grounds of ill health. The school also takes whatever practical steps they can to assist the disabled learner.

Among the learners who have successfully matriculated from Selly Park Secondary School is a boy who had lost both legs in an accident. Ramps were added to the school building to facilitate his movement to and from classes in a wheelchair. Other learners accepted as pupils include victims of Asperger’s’ Syndrome, a girl with one arm, a boy with severe hearing loss, a boy with multiple physical handicaps and a girl suffering from a life-threatening illness.

If the school is in the position to help, then the school deems it necessary to help and to make sure that the child in question is secure and happy at school.

Selly Park Secondary School has a strong outreach policy which has been translated into two vibrant school clubs: INTERACT (linked to ROTARY) and Common Ground (linked to WESA).  Both clubs are open to all learners at the school.
