Stars’ third loss in a row

Rustenburg/ Phokeng: Platinum Stars played Mamelodi Sundowns Saturday 20 January at Loftus Versfeld.  

The two sides could not find combination passes in the opening ten minutes, which resulted in scrappy play, although Sundowns were entering the last third more often. Sibusiso Vilakazi opened the scoring in the 22nd minute for Mamelodi Sundowns, two minutes later Khama Billiat extended Sundowns lead by scoring 2 free kicks which gave Chloorkop troop 3-0 victory. Dikwena were dominating possession in the last 20 minutes of the game and stretching play wide on the wings as they looked to get on the score-sheet but could not find at the back of the net. 

Platinum Stars is at the foot of the Absa Premiership log with 15 points from 18 games played this season 2017/2018.
