Rustenburg/ Phokeng – Rustenburg will host the second Absa Premiership David v Goliath rivalry fixture of the Woza Nazo series between Platinum Stars and Orlando Pirates, scheduled for the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Saturday, 27 January.

As both teams gear up for this Woza Nazo David v Goliath rivalry fixture, the hosts, Dikwena find themselves bottom of the log after a challenging start to the 2017/18 Absa Premiership campaign with a consistent run of victories hard to come by while the Buccaneers, who have started the New Year brightly, have taken strides in the Absa Premiership title race.

When it comes to a David v Goliath fixture, it doesn’t get bigger than this.  Stars may have enjoyed some trophy success against Pirates in recent seasons, but while the Soweto giants are one of the biggest clubs in Africa, Stars have battled to shake their “small team” status. In 29 meetings in the Absa Premiership competition, the visitors from Soweto have won 14 to just two successes for Dikwena, with 13 draws. Stars will have to be on their giant-killing display to prevent Pirates from winning their 9th game from their last 14 visits to Royal Bafokeng.
