COPS CRACK DOWN IN BOITEKONG

Boitekong/ Rustenburg – A high-impact Safer City operation in Boitekong led to multiple arrests on Friday, 7 February 2025, as law enforcement tackled illegal liquor sales, immigration violations, and unlicensed gambling activities.

Acting Bojanala Platinum Sub-District 2 commissioner, brigadier Mamotsamai Ntoagae, spearheaded the operation, working alongside various stakeholders to enforce compliance in the area. Officers focused on liquor traders, second-hand dealerships, and conducted stop-and-search procedures along the R510, as well as in Siza and Popo Molefe informal settlements.

The results were:

• 8 individuals arrested for selling liquor without a license
• 9 individuals detained for contravening the Immigration Act
• 7 suspects taken into custody for violating the Gambling Act
