Taxi driver killed while attempting repairs

Rustenburg – A tragic accident on Saturday, 1 February 2025, claimed the life of a taxi driver on the N4 after his vehicle broke down.

The driver was underneath the taxi attempting to fix it when another vehicle crashed into the stationary minibus. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries on the scene. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries.

Emergency responders, including Netcare 911 and Eagle Trauma Rescue, swiftly arrived to assist. Eagle Trauma Rescue’s special operations manager, Reyno Dempers, expressed his condolences, saying, “Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased during this difficult time.”
