CRASH HIGHLIGHTS DANGERS OF PEAK HOUR TRAFFIC ON N4

Rustenburg – On Friday 17 January 2025, a collision occurred on the N4 near the Helen Joseph off-ramp when two vehicles collided. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and all involved escaped unharmed.

This stretch of the N4 is notorious for heavy traffic, particularly during morning peak hours. Motorists are urged to exercise caution, especially near the blind bend over the mountain. Additionally, many pedestrians dangerously cross the highway at this location, increasing the risk of accidents. 

Many drivers tend to accelerate to 120km/h, only to face sudden traffic congestion just after the blind rise. These conditions often necessitate abrupt stops, further heightening the danger.

• Maintain a safe following distance.
• Reduce speed, particularly near blind rises and bends.
• Be vigilant for pedestrians who may attempt to cross the highway.
