Fatal Collision: Truck Hits Tree and Bursts into Flames on R104

Rustenburg – A devastating accident unfolded on Wednesday, 6 November 2024, when a truck lost control, veered off the road, and collided with a tree along the R104 near Kroondal at approximately 15:30. The crash triggered a blaze that tragically claimed the life of the driver on the scene. Emergency responders from ER24, EMRS, Eagle Trauma Rescue, and the Fire Department arrived swiftly to control the fire and secure the accident site. Despite their valiant efforts, the flames were too intense to save the driver. Daneel Scheepers, ER24 branch manager, expressed her deepest condolences, stating, “Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
