Burnt bodies lead to double murder investigation

Rustenburg – On Sunday 21 July 2024 at approximately 09:00, a gruesome discovery was made on a private road between Reutlwile and Plastic View. The bodies of two males were found burnt beyond recognition.

SAPS colonel Adel Myburgh stated, “The Boitekong police are investigating a double murder case. The motive for the murders is unknown.”

DA ward councillor Luan Snyders, who arrived at the scene shortly after 10:00, reported, “According to nearby residents, they heard gunshots and screams the previous night around 21:00. It looked like some sort of mob justice to me, and from what one could hear on the ground, the community sounded rather fed up with what has been happening in the vicinity, as people got robbed frequently by what is believed to be the two deceased men.”

Thlabane Community Police Forum chairperson, Joyce Motswasele, added, “I heard from the community that one of the burn victims was a driver who was stealing other people’s belongings.”
