Miraculous escape: train and truck collide in Magaliesburg

Magaliesburg – A train and truck accident occurred on the R24 in Magaliesburg on Tuesday, 28 May 2024. According to SA Trucker, the collision caused major disruptions as both entry and exit routes to and from Magaliesburg were closed for an extended period.

The accident happened when a truck hit a train while crossing the railway, resulting in the train being derailed. The closure forced travellers to detour via Hekpoort to access Magaliesburg. Remarkably, despite the severity of the accident, no fatalities were reported. Witnesses described the scene as miraculous, noting that it looked incredible that everyone involved survived without any loss of life.
