Elderly woman’s murder leads to 18-year sentence for local man

Rustenburg – Thabang General Molapisi, 28, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison on murder charges. In January 2023, Aleta Maserame Moloko, aged 79, was reported missing, prompting police intervention.

Sergeant Ofentse Mokgadi reports, “Upon arrival at her residence, police detected a foul odour emanating from inside the home and were compelled to force entry. They discovered Moloko lying face-down on her bed. Several items were noted as missing from the home.”

Investigations quickly pointed to Molapisi after he was seen selling some of the stolen items. He was arrested the same day while traveling by taxi from Mathopestad to Rustenburg.

Warrant officer Koos Horn played a pivotal role in arresting Molapisi and gathering crucial evidence, which contributed significantly to the successful conviction and sentencing.
