Teenager’s murder case postponed and transferred to regional court
Rustenburg – In a sombre development in Rustenburg, the community reels from the tragic loss of 19-year-old Lethabo Sibanda, a former pupil at Hoër Tegniese Skool. The young life was cut short in a fatal stabbing incident that occurred in 2023 at the bustling Rustenburg Taxi Rank.
The case has been gaining attention, especially after the arrest of Didintle Blessing Tladi, 18, who stands accused of this crime. Tladi recently made a follow-up appearance at the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 10 January 2024. The court proceedings brought forth significant updates, as relayed by Henry Mamothame, the National Prosecuting Authority’s (NPA) regional spokesperson. The court postponed the case to 24 April 2024. This postponement comes with a significant procedural change; the case has been transferred to a regional court. As the legal proceedings unfold, Tladi will remain in custody, awaiting his next court appearance.
