Marikana – The Christiana Police, acting on a tip-off, arrested two suspects in Marikana on Saturday 12 May, for dealing in drugs. 


According to lieutenant colonel Adéle Myburgh, police spokesperson, the first suspect, aged 26, was found in possession of 83,90 kg of dagga at his residence. “A second suspect was also arrested in the same neighbourhood. The 30-year old suspect was found in possession of 40 tablets suspected to be Mandrax,” she said. 


The suspects appeared before the Bloemhof Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 14 May.


The provincial commissioner, lieutenant general Baile Motswenyane lauded the members and public for their collaboration that culminated in the arrests.
