Two in court for murder

Rustenburg/ Phokeng – On Thursday, 1 February, two suspects aged 26 and 34 appeared before the Bafokeng Magistrates’ Court on charges of murder. This followed shortly after their arrest two days earlier on Tuesday, 30 January. 

The two suspects stand accused of killing Mthemba Advice Mcebisi (32) at Platinum village on Tuesday, 12 September 2017. 

“The two suspects allegedly went to Mcebisi’s house in the early hours of the morning and asked him to take them to a hiking spot. That was the last time anyone had seen him alive,” says sergeant Gabaiphiwe Kgatha, police spokesperson. 

Mcebisi’s decomposed body was found three days later, discarded in the bushes behind Platinum village near Phokeng on Friday, 15 September 2017.
