Rustenburg – The Rustenburg police, in conjunction with the cluster crime combatting unit, arrested four suspects for fraud on Tuesday, 16 January after a tip-off of suspects producing fake documents.

The four suspects, aged between 32 and 33 years, were found in the possession of fake passports and various certificates. In their possession police also found computers, monitors, a laminating machine, a scanner, laptop and a digital ink duplicator which were allegedly used to produce false documents.

The suspects appeared before the Rustenburg Magistrates’ court on Thursday, 18 January on charges of fraud.

“This is the second incident of fraudulent documents we have had to deal with in the past week. We thank members of the public and our own members for the arrests they have made in this case,” says lieutenant colonel Pelonomi Makau, police spokesperson.
