‘We need our salaries’

Moruleng – Disgruntled employees gathered to protest outside the offices of the Bakgatla Ba Kgafela (BBK) Tribal Authority’s offices on Wednesday, 10 January. Employees are up in arms after not receiving their salaries for the past three months. They claim that corruption is rife and that the BBK Tribal Authorities’ coffers are empty.

“We want what is due to us. Corruption in the council in rife and we will no longer stand for it,” says Morena Thale, BBK youth leader.
