Hot climbs, cool company for RCC

RCC’s mountain bikers took on challenging trails and sweltering heat during the club ride on 17 October.

Platinum Weekly newspaper | Rustenburg – A challenging climb, welcome refreshments and good company kept spirits high as 23 cyclists joined Rustenburg Cycling Club’s (RCC) club rides on Saturday 17 October 2026.

Regular riders, visitors and new members shared the morning’s adventure, with 16 mountain bikers heading for the trails and seven road cyclists setting off towards Buffelspoort.

For the mountain bikers, the Mini Breedts climb tested legs and determination in sweltering heat. Some were tackling the route for the first time, making the water point sponsored by Chilou Projects a particularly welcome stop before the main ascent.

The group returned along the construction road beside the N4 works before rounding off their outing with ice-cold refreshments at the local Plato coffee shop. Meanwhile, the club’s road cyclists enjoyed a ride to Buffelspoort and back.

RCC thanked everyone who joined the rides and looks forward to welcoming cyclists to its next outing. The club also acknowledged its sponsors: Rustenburg Toyota, Infinity, M Civils, Rustenburg Gearbox Centre and Local Choice Pharmacy.
