Platinum Weekly newspaper | Rustenburg – Four rugby tickets became an opportunity to make a meaningful difference when Life Peglerae Hospital’s doctors and staff joined forces to raise R20,500 for Lighthouse Child & Youth Care Centre.
The money was raised through the sale of four tickets to the Springboks versus All Blacks rugby match, turning the excitement surrounding one of rugby’s biggest fixtures into practical support for a local organisation and the children in its care. Doctors and staff enthusiastically supported the initiative, showing how a shared love of sport can bring people together for a worthy cause.
The R20,500 cheque was formally handed over to the centre’s executive members at Life Peglerae Hospital on Monday 7 September 2026. The occasion marked the culmination of a fundraising effort rooted in generosity, teamwork and care for the Rustenburg community.
For Lighthouse, the donation offers tangible support for its work. For those who contributed, it is a reminder that even four tickets can open the door to something much bigger.
