Pedestrian dies after collision on R104 towards Kroondal

Platinum Weekly newspaper | Rustenburg – A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on the R104 towards Kroondal on Saturday evening, 26 September 2026.

Rustenburg First Responders received a call at approximately 21:38 reporting that the pedestrian was critically injured. Its volunteers and North West Provincial EMS attended the scene, where emergency personnel treated and stabilised the patient before transporting them to hospital.

The patient later died despite the medical care provided,

Rustenburg First Responders administrator Ammaar Wadee confirmed. Police are investigating the circumstances of the collision.

The responders extended their condolences to the person’s family, friends and loved ones.
