N4 claims four lives
Rustenburg – Four people died following a collision involving three vehicles along the N4 highway between Rustenburg Mall and the Kroondal offramp on Saturday 8 January. A culpable homicide case has been opened.
Says ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring:
“ER24 and other emergency services arrived at 20h25 to find two vehicles on the road and a third in the veld.
Upon closer inspection, medics found a man and a woman lying trapped and motionless inside the small bakkie, trapped. Unfortunately, both had already succumbed to their injuries.”
Trauma Rescue general manager Wentzel Dippenaar told Platinum Weekly: “Besides the two in the Nissan NP200 bakkie, Trauma Rescue and paramedics on scene were provided with advanced life support interventions and were transported to hospital.”
Sadly, two more people involved in this accident succumbed to their injuries in hospital, bringing the total to four lives lost.
