Shaping future leaders today
Lekalong/ Rustenburg – The Goldrush Foundation handed over a brand-new classroom to Tsunyane School in Lekgalong village (about 25km from Rustenburg) on Tuesday 9 November.
The classroom, creating a better learning environment for the school’s foundation phase learners, is a modified container constructed at a cost of R400,000.
The sturdy classroom is equipped with basic items like chairs, tables, a blackboard and an aircon. Says Goldrush Foundation group compliance manager and trustee Raymond Thakuli: “Education is one of the main priorities at Goldrush. We do not view this as a donation. Rather, it’s an investment.”
Each year, the Goldrush Foundation channels between R3 to R4 million towards various social investment initiatives in South Africa. Activities and projects supported by Goldrush are identified according to guidelines of the company’s corporate social investment (CSI) policy.
