Sun City awarded ‘Africa’s Leading Family Resort’
Phokeng/ Rustenburg – Sun City Resort has been named by World Travel Awards as ‘Africa’s Leading Family Resort’ for 2021, beating 17 other nominees from some of the globe’s most popular travel destinations.
Sun City has been awarded at the World Travel Awards every year since 2001, some years with more than one award, including Africa’s Leading Casino Resort, Africa’s Leading Resort, South Africa’s Leading Resort, Africa’s Leading Conference Hotel and Africa’s Leading Family Resort, proving that South Africans have the best of the best right on their doorstep.
This North West resort is located along the border of the malaria-free Pilanesberg National Park, making it the only surf-and-safari destination within a two-hour drive of landlocked Johannesburg. Guests can splash out at the Valley of Waves, go on a game drive, play on two world-class 18-hole golf courses designed by Gary Player, and partake in adrenaline-pumping activities.
Brett Hoppé, Sun City’s general manager said that as worldwide travel opened up, tourists are looking to book getaways at memorable destinations.
“Sun City is an experience for all ages, whether you are active and sporty, adventurous, hooked on nature or just enjoy relaxing by the pool. Sun City is truly a world within a city, suitable for families, couples or friends.”
