Truck driver murdered in Mogwase
Mogwase – Four suspects implicated in the murder of a 52-year-old truck driver appeared before the Mogwase Magistrates’ Court on Monday 25 October.
Thabang Kgama, Tlhalefang Motlali and Tebego Mosito were charged with murder. The trio together with the fourth suspect, Lesitisa Macamo, were also charged for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. They were all remanded in custody until their next court appearance on Thursday 4 November.
Police spokesperson brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone said the four allegedly shot and killed the truck driver on Friday 22 October while he was delivering bread to a tuck shop in unit 8, Mogwase.
“The truck driver was seated inside the truck, waiting for his crew to offload the bread, when four suspects appeared and shot him. He died on the scene,” Mokgwabone said.
All four men were arrested on 24 October at around 02:00 after police raided a house in Mogwase.
“One of the suspects escaped. An unlicensed 9mm pistol and 12 rounds of ammunition were recovered by police inside the house.”
